My baby girl in Preschool!

First day of preschool
I found out how much I underestimate the knowledge capacity of my 4 year old. Today, as I was walking her to Steff's house she noticed all the flags waving and asked if it was the 4th of July. I smiled at her, and went on to tell her in the most simple way the trade tower story. I asked her if she understood she said yes and that it was sad. Thinking that she wouldn't remember a word I had just said I left it at that. Later that night Steff and I were talking and she told me she was very surprised at how informed Kambrie was, I was a little confused. Then she told me of how when she answered the door when I dropped Kambrie off she had noticed the flags and couldn't figure out what day it was. She was trying to figure it out, when Kambrie very proudly recited the story I had just told her, twice. I am so proud of her. I also found out the the school said nothing about today to the students. I took the opportunity to explain to Braedon the same thing. I'm Afraid and sad, the teaching of History in school will soon come to an end. I have come up with a solution. Alan's Dad is a huge history buff. What better way for my kids to learn than from Grandpa! Sorry for the long Blog. I thought I would pass the word, to never underestimate the understanding of your child.

Alan's idea of quality time!!!

That was a great blog. At least you kept it down to short story form, unlike me. The same thing happened up here, too. The kids all got bracelets for 9/11, but no one really took the time to explain it to them. That was my job on the way home from school. I thought it was kind of sad but good that people are getting on with life, but we should still take the time to remember.

She is one smart little girl. Very observant. I bet she's loving pre-school.
